Tonga police look to repair damaged reputation


Tonga’s police commissioner Superintendent Grant O’Fee says earning the trust and confidence of the public is critical after a string of incidents over the past year have damaged the image of the police.

The most high profile case is that of five police officers who will go on trial next March on manslaughter charges in relation to the death of a New Zealand police man in the central station’s holding cells last year.
