Compensation order in Tongan defamation case


A newspaper in Tonga is facing a hefty fine after being found guilty of defamation.

The publisher and the editor of the Kele’a newspaper, have been ordered to pay compensation of about 14 000 pa’anga or $8,000 after losing a civil action over an article published late last year.
