Tonga steps up its renewable energy push

There is a growing push towards renewable energy in the Pacific with both Cook Islands and Tuvalu setting ambitious targets to achieve 100 percent renewable energy networks.

Tonga too is moving down the same road, having just been admitted as the Pacific’s sole representative on the council of IRENA, the International Renewable Energy Agency.

And tomorrow the country’s first sustainable energy expo will open.

It’s been organised by TERM – the Tonga Energy Road Map.
